Microsoft Windows XP SP3 and Office 2003

Microsoft has announced that effective Tuesday, April 8, 2014 they will end support for Windows XP SP3 and Office 2003! Key dates are all around us and fortunately with today’s technology there are many ways to ensure reminders are in place so we don’t forget or act too late with respect to a key date! Consider this blog one of those friendly reminders! 6 months and counting….

Microsoft Business and Developer products (including Windows and Office products) receive a minimum of 10 years of support! Well time flies and here we are 10 years after the launch of Windows XP SP3 and Office 2003 – and the party is over! So what to do? Time to migrate to a more modern desktop! Hopefully you have already started because the average enterprise deployment can take anywhere from 18 to 32 months! If you haven’t started, please email or call us today at 1-866-320-8922 so we can work together to plan the right migration for your organization.

Now you may be wondering – so what happens after April 8, 2014 when Microsoft ends support for Windows XP SP3 and Office 2003? What if I don’t take action? Well Microsoft has told us that there won’t be any new security updates, non-security hotfixes, free or paid support on any technical content updates. For your organization this means security and operational risks and also the lack of software and hardware support for applications running on Windows XP. These risks are significant – not the type of thing you want to leave to chance.

So give us a call at 1-866-320-8922 and let’s start working proactively to ensure you are protected. Your current infrastructure may already support the system requirements for Windows 7 or Windows 8. If not, then we have a few more steps to undertake. Fear not, we will be here to support you as always and will work with you to find the right migration strategy.
